With perhaps one of the best Ocean State Makos teams ever assembled, the 17u team will be up against the top programs and tournaments on the East Coast, hopefully boosting their national recognition even more. Every player on the 17 man roster was on the Makos last year, so coaches Mark Cahill and Ryan Westmoreland are familiar with the character and talent level of these players.

As a program, we want to develop these kids in a way that prepares them to play at the collegiate level. Five of our players have already committed to play in college, and we hope to see many more throughout the year.

All summer long our 17u team will be playing in national tournaments in New Jersey, New York, and highlighted by the PBR 17u National Championships in Emerson, GA where 130 of the nations top teams will participate.

Eight tournaments in two months is a lot of baseball, but Cahill and Westmoreland agree that this team can handle this workload, in the most "intense summer circuit in recent memory." Good luck this summer to our 17u Makos, we can't wait to see the damage these young men are capable of!
