In the first game the Makos were locked in a pitcher’s duel which saw crafty left hander Jayden Souza spin a complete game.  Souza settled in nicely after the first inning which saw him allow one run.  The rest of the way he was dominant allowing no runs on three hits and fanning 7.  Manager Lance Mello stated:

“This type of performance from Jayden is what we expect. Once he settles down and uses his legs he is really dominant.  He does a very good job of mixing pitches and has a fastball that tails away from right handed batters”.

At the plate the Makos were kept quiet until an 8 run sixth inning that had six Makos pick up RBI’s.

In the second game the Makos bats came alive seeing Ben Sherry went 2-3 on the day launching his first home run of the season to straight away center field.  Defensively the Makos did not commit a single error in the field.  Nolan Mello picked up his second win of the season on the mound.  While not having his best stuff, he allowed two runs on three hits, striking out six in 4 innings.  Kyle Rogers closed the game out picking up his first save of the year. The Makos won the game by a score of 6-3.
